Nine Reasons to Live in Andersonville

It can be hard to pick a new neighborhood to move to!  If you are thinking about Andersonville, here are nine places that will make the choice for you:

l

Technically the Hopleaf is 100 feet south of the Andersonville border, but common, it’s close enough.

1. Hopleaf Bar

Come to the cozy Hopleaf and you can choose from 250 types of bottled beer (you can download a 22 page pdf of the list here) You can also order a gourmet duck Reuben and listen to  weekly local reading events… come early there are no reservations allowed for this tiny dining area. But don’t worry! A beautiful expansion is coming soon with a new kitchen and 100 more seats!

Burger time!

2. Hamburger Mary’s

Burgers to die for and décor to start conversations! You will find burgers including the Buffy (the Burger Slayer) with red wine sauce and garlic aioli and home brews such as the “Mary Hoppins”. There are specials every day of the week and fried Twinkies! Not only is this a great burger joint, there is also Mary’s Attic: a late night destination with endless events like bingo and cabaret.

In Fine Spirits Andersonville

Behold! Awesome inexpensive wine!

3. In Fine Spirits

Bar AND shop! Yes, you will find exquisite limited edition and collectable wines here, but I bet you didn’t expect to hear that half of the wine is under $20 bucks and they always have at least 75 wines under $12! (Find beers, bourbons, whiskies and ciders as well.) Then go over to the bar and dine on some classy plates like a pulled pork sandwich with Gouda and a shot of bourbon or select your own decadent cheese platter!

George's Ice Cream and Sweets Andersonville

Drooooooooool

4. George’s Ice Cream and Sweets

This is a cute little place to go after eating out or just to indulge! Here you’ll find tons of unique ice cream flavors like “Zanzibar”, but you can also try; soy, yogurt, no sugar added and Italian ice options or even a crazy Sunday if you feel up to it. Don’t feel like ice cream? Go for the cupcakes, cookies, tarts, cobblers or cakes! Feeling warm? Get a shake.  Feeling cold? Get some coffee or hot chocolate. You know you want to.
