Honey Butter Fried Chicken

There are two words that I love together: Fried Chicken.  So when a restaurant opens and it centers around fried chicken with Southern sides, you better believe that I am there ready to taste everything on the menu.  Confession: I am a fried chicken junkie.  If I could only eat the same five meals for the rest of my life, fried chicken would be one of them.  So you could say that I have tried my

ButHoney Butter Fried Chickendoes something different, which sets them apart from the rest.  The chicken is served with soft, whipped honey butter that you slather all over it.  This dish at the new Avondale restaurant debuted at Sunday Dinner Club, the longstanding pop-up dinner series hosted by chefs Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp, and it was so successful that they decided to open a restaurant around it.  The fried chicken is salty and sweet. The chicken is locally sourced and brined with sugar, salt, spices and citrus, then battered and fried, and topped with smoked paprika salt.  The only downfall, be prepared to wait in a line to order. But do not let this scare you off.  After ordering at the counter, the food is brought out to your table fast by a runner.  You are then ready to have some of the best fried chicken in the city, but only after they remind you, “Now dip that chicken in salty, sweet honey butter for that fried chicken experience!” Enjoy the photos below and if you are hungry…be warned!
