It’s that time of the year again where 45,000 runners from all over the world take to Chicago’s streets and 29 neighborhoods. Ladies 
and Gentlemen, it’s Chicago Marathon Weekend! On Sunday October 13th runners from all 50 states and over 100 countries will set out to accomplish a dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park. If you will not be joining them to run, join the cheering crowds along the route! The energy is out of this world! (Spectator Information) But if you are looking to cheer on the sidelines with the best view while also enjoying a delicious meal that’s on special, we’ve got you covered on that too!
1. O’Brien’s Restuatant & Bar. O’Brien’s will open it’s doors at 8 a.m. and will be serving its a la carte brunch menu. Outdoor seating will be open as well, if weather permits offering the best views! 1528 N. Wells St.
2. Park Grill. The Millennium Park Restaurant will host an alfresco Chicago Marathon breakfast buffet and viewing party from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday ($18). 11 N. Michigan Ave.
3. Mercat a la Plaza. The Spanish inspired restaurant is featuring a four course “Dine and Dash” menu Friday through Sunday, $45. On Sunday the restaurant’s three-course brunch will be available 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 636 S. Michigan Ave.
4. Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, 1401 S. Michigan Ave & City Tavern, 1416 S. Michigan Ave. Both restuarants are yards away from the finish line! Could that get any more exciting?! They will both be serving their Sunday brunch menus along with activities and balloon artists for kids. The restaurants also serve as semiofficial cheering sections for the Special Olympics runners! Be apart of the cheering as runners make their way to the end!
Even though Chicago will be hosting one of the biggest events in the city, sometimes crowds are just not for everyone. So if you include yourself in this group and are 21+ we found a great Halloween Spirited event to attend, Sunday Bloody Sunday!
