1. The Counter
The Counter is located at 666 W. Diversey (right around the corner from Apartment Savvy!) It’s a fully customizeable burger experience. You order with a clipboard and get to check off all of your choices. Do you want a veggie, turkey, chicken or beef burger? Would you like onions, a fried egg, grilled pineapple, avocado, sprouts, the list goes on. They have 24 different sauces you can choose from. You can even customize your bun or get your burger as a salad! I had a turkey burger with hardboiled egg, tomatoes, pickles, and grilled pineapple the other day and it was super tasty! My personal favorite thing at the counter is the fries, the Parmesan French Fries to be exact. You can’t say no to parmesan fries.
Fatty’s is located at 2665 N. Clark St. If you are looking for that perfect diner burger, look no further! Fatty’s has hand cut fries and unique burger buns that can’t be found anywhere else! Also bonus: Fatty’s delivers, so if you don’t feel like leaving the house to get a delicious burger they are the place to call! If you live up farther North, don’t worry you don’t have to make the journey down to Lakeview, Fatty’s is opening up a location in Evanston!
DMK Burger Bar is located at 2954 N. Sheffield. They do a lot of themed limited edition burgers and right now their featured burger is the Bloody Burger, featuring steak tartare, fried egg, garlic aioli, salt & vinegar chips and garlic bread. DMK has some great unique burgers, my favorites being the bison burger and salmon burger. Also be sure to check out their fantastic craft beer list!
This steakhouse is located at 2808 N. Halsted and though it is a steakhouse, it has some fantastic steakburgers! They were even voted one of Chicago’s Top Five burgers by the Tribune! This family owned and operated restaurant has a great atmosphere to go with the great burger.
